Every club suffers from it at some devise, but Pompey seem to be having a season of it, so it would seem - administrative, or off the pitch "Own Goals".

Since exiting from Provision last season and being bought by CSI, it is fair to say that things at Fratton have not gone well off the pitch with esteem to securing the goodwill and bonhomie of the Pompey fan base.  Having forgotten the charismatic and fan orientated Lucius Peart in September, Pompey have struggled to re-capture with their fans and have begun to lose them in droves.

The first of the many errors was the unrealistic hike in Period ticket prices, especially when you consider that fans were being asked to pay a massive premium when there were only nine first team players on their books.  In some cases, Condition ticket prices went up by 20+%, contrast this with other clubs, including Premiership ones, where ticket prices were being greatly reduced.  Ignoring an outcry and the more militant supporters groups calling for a boycott, the bat held firm and refused to bow to price reductions, citing that once published they could not be rescinded.  At the same beforehand in an outrageous move following promotion to the Premiership, Queens Park Rangers had introduced a mighty price rise and this was being used by Pompey as an example of the costs of match a modern day football club. To add further insult, fans had to pay cash or by cheque as there were no have faith facilities and the irritation was further compounded by the fact that if you chose to turn up and pay on the day, that would price you a further two pounds , in effect a matchday tax!  This was supposedly to cover Admin charges!
