Primeval registration for St. Helena Little League baseball and softball is under way for boys and girls ages 5-12 and will last through Dec. 31.

The original sign-up fees are $95 for Majors and Minor divisions, and $75 for T-Ball and Wonderful Rookies. They will increase by $20 on Jan. 1.

There are limited scholarships available. Ring up player agents Kristin Martin at 738-8978 or Katie Leonardini at 815-3650 for endowment information.

Player evaluations — which are mandatory for all players ages 8-12 — will be held Sunday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Feb. 4. Additional tryout tidings will be provided in January.

Napa Valley FC holding democratic girls soccer academy Jan. 7-8

The Napa Valley Futbol Combine will present a free, two-day soccer academy for girls ages 8-11 at Pick Middle School on Jan. 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day.

The academy will be taught by a masterly staff of coaches who have national credentials, national exposure and own licensing to teach young girls. The academy will present an age-nick curriculum it says is well-organized, teaches fundamental technique, builds on skills importance, and is fun.

Drummond leads Portsmouth
