Baseball (or 野球 yakyu in Japanese) has been played in Japan since about 1872 when it was introduced by an American expatriate named Horace Wilson. In 1878, the part of baseball first created, the Shimbashi Athletic staff, but it was not until a couple in Tokyo University was established that cavort in the end took off .
