Stephon Hallam had been staying at a $300-a-week motel until that got too expensive, so he spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sleeping on a pad on the floor of the Montana Let go free Mission chapel.

On Thursday afternoon, the gray-bearded 84-year-old was sitting in the chapel reading a New Yorker journal.

Hallam said he had some resources and a few promising job prospects, unlike many of the people at the men's shield.

"I'm not completely destitute," he said. "Some of these guys don't have anything going for them."

Whatever their circumstances, the 15 to 20 men who have been sleeping in the chapel the on few nights, or hanging out there during the day, had one thing in common: They needed to get out of the cold.

The mission doesn't stay calm its rules against letting inebriated men stay there when the temperature drops below frozen, but it does open up the chapel to make sure nobody has to live on the streets.

Rescue Charge Director Perry Roberts said he had 70 people at the men's screen Wednesday night, up from the 50 to 55 staying there in recent weeks.

Once fully exaggerated, this point is very easy. Haven’t worn it in any exceptional temperatures yet so I can’t remark on the insulation about. However, it does take a while to expand it up. I move around a lot in my snore so I kept falling off the pad. Deflating also takes a while. Someone else who reviewed it mentioned to start deflating while you are still on the pad. Ardent objective.
