Some of the overwhelm parties in town last week were held in the VIP tent, decorated by Merri Lee Fox, proprietress of Gift Gourmet & Interiors, at the "Extreme Makeover: Home Issue" Knoxville build site on Robinson Road. The tent was filled with spectacular furnishings, accessories and art along with stunning floral designs by Lisa Raise. Because of the VIP tent's proximity to the house, guests at these events got a close look at the construction charming place nearby.
One event was an "extremely special" 18th birthday fete for Gracie Eakin, daughter of Christi Branscom, president of Kindness Construction (named for Gracie), the lead builder on the project. Nama provided platters of sushi, Gracie's favorite nutriment; Magpies created a special cream cake with strawberry padding decorated with pink dots in different sizes. A group of volunteers led by visiting prestige Jenny McCarthy sang "Happy Birthday" to Gracie. As a exclusive surprise Logan Murrell, the teen singing sensation who performed at the EMHE pep recuperate at the Tennessee Theatre, dropped by to sing with the guests, who loved every coup d'oeil of it. Among those who celebrated with Gracie were her special friends Elizabeth Pope, Nicole DeBusk, Megan Hatcher, MacKenzie Pearson, Jolie Spiegelman, Douglas Hogan, Jeanine Bell, Jeannette Carlson, Olivia Hamilton, Katherine Dunlap, Margaret Bell, Caitlin Brandow, Anna Davis, Kate Caldwell, Carley Knight and Allie Well-heeled.
