I rely upon in using the good soap.

Not waiting until company comes. Not placement it out as decoration. Not saving it for the proverbial “later.”

Every morning, I get in the shower and buffet up with a favorite bar of lavender soap, a small but everyday act that is less about personal allowance and more about the importance of the moment.

I also use a dash of real half-and-half in my coffee, the capable dishes even for everyday and cloth napkins with napkin ring holders.

On the fa, it might not seem like much.

But somewhere along the way, I made the decision to drink my morning coffee out of a pretty mug, not one that was chipped, because life-force is worth it, and to take the time to make tea in a teapot, not just dunk a tea bag in a cup of hot not make sense, because I am.

I’m not sure when I made the switch, but it was intentional, and sometime ago. I’m sure I was inspired by that famed letter making the rounds a few years back, supposedly written by a grieving groom who found a stash of pretty blouses and lingerie that his late wife set aside, saving them “for stuff b merchandise.” The punch line is predictable, but worth repeating. The sign-writer — was it in Ann Landers?— said he buried his woman in one of those blouses she’d saved “for good.
