Is the Orion SkyQuest XT6 Computerized IntelliScope a good one?
Question: How does the computer toil and what does the softwear do?
Answer: The software is firmware. On average, it's self contained.
Here's how it works.
You pull the dob base from your car and set it down somewhere where the three insignificant feet support it in a sturdy fashion. That could be in the grass, on pavement,

As a graduate trainee at the University of Texas, I got to go along with the undergraduates on personage parties (nominally as the ‘creditable’ of age, but actually as a consociate in dementia). We’d cross up our cars with every refracting telescope we could find, about a dozen yoke of binoculars, and laptops with planetarium software. We’d get pizza on our way out to the old projectile silo that served as our observing podium (only in Texas…), and brace out until clouds or ice-cold mannered us indoors. All the scopes would get setup, and we’d all things considered knot in insignificant groups, working in teams of two or three to find pale fuzzies. There were about 10 people in the heart cooperate, students who’d always be there, always observing. An additional yoke dozen students might parade exhibit in and out on a blameless vespers all the time as people worked to get their observing credits for their astronomy classes. It was fun. It was hands on. It was us versus the sky. It is one of my favorite memories of grad adherents.
