’Tis the pep up for a little high-tech ho-ho-ho. This week we’ll look at a few inexpensive, but elementary, gift ideas for your favorite PC user this holiday season.

PMice storm nice gifts. More than 25 years after their commercial introduction, the mouse remains one of the most-employed components of any computer, be it desktop or notebook. Consequently, it’s also one of the first peripherals to need replacement, because of out of pocket performance or physical discomfort. Not all mice are created equally, and because they are your clear link to the computer, it pays to like the one you use.

Mice come in all shapes, styles and colors, by many ranging on both price and functions. You could spend nearly $200 on a specialty mouse made by some eclipse manufacturer, but for the average holiday shopping list, I’d recommend sticking with products in the $20-to-$80 rank from three companies known for making quality hardware: Logitech, Microsoft and RAZAR.

To upon whether your gift recipient could use a new mouse, consider the following criteria: Does their this point in time mouse use a ball to navigate the on-screen pointer? Out of curio I bought 1 of these last summer, then after testing for a whilepurchased ten more as christmas gifts for relatives/friends.

I tested them all out before giving away. 6 or 7 had very clear, even beams even with the no-name (included) batteries. My pater/associate and best friends got these. If you haven’t seen a green laser you’ll be amazed at the zeal and aloofness you can get out of it. Too cheerful for indoor presentations though!
